The very name of Ft. Thomas rings with historical echoes. Located in northeastern Campbell County, the town was renamed in the early 20th century after Brigadier General George H. Thomas, one of four key generals of the Civil War. Remnants of battles and forts can still be seen and studied throughout the area.

Ft. Thomas today is alive with sports and recreation activities for youth, adults and seniors alike, including a wealth of parks and fields for enjoyment by all. Ft. Thomas also offers personal, professional healthcare facilities at the St. Elizabeth Healthcare facility conveniently located on Grand Ave. Easily accessible by I-471, healthcare is minutes away for downtown Cincinnatians.

Ft. Thomas Independent Schools are consistently the pride of Northern Kentucky. In fact, Highlands High School is ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top 560 high schools in the United States, earning a silver medal in 2010. Forbes.com named Fort Thomas Independent Schools as one of the top 25 public school districts in the country.
